FAQ
Manual Translation: Frequently Asked Questions
What manufacturers ask us most often before sending a manual.
Do I need a translated manual to sell machinery abroad?
In the EU, machinery must be supplied with instructions in the official language of the country where it is used, and many other markets have similar rules. A professional translation helps you meet these requirements and avoid disputes.
Can you translate a manual that I only have as a PDF?
Yes. If the source files are not available, we extract the text, translate it and rebuild the layout, or deliver the translation in Word for your team.
How do you keep the terminology consistent across manuals?
We build a glossary and a translation memory for each Customer. Every new manual or update reuses the approved terms, so all your documents use the same words.
Do you also translate the text inside images and diagrams?
Yes. Callouts, labels and tables inside images are translated and placed back in the graphics, in the right reading direction.
How long does it take to translate a 100-page manual?
It depends on the density of the text and the language, but a 100-page manual usually takes 7 to 10 working days, layout included. For urgent projects we split the work among several translators who share the same glossary.
