FAQ

Technical Translation: Frequently Asked Questions

What companies ask us most often before sending their manuals.

How is the price of a technical translation calculated?

The price is based on the word count of the source text, the language pair, the subject and the layout work required. Repeated content and updates cost less thanks to the translation memory. You receive a fixed quote before we start.

How long does it take to translate a 100-page manual?

It depends on the density of the text and the language, but a 100-page manual usually takes 7 to 10 working days, layout included. For urgent projects we split the work among several translators who share the same glossary.

Do you sign a non-disclosure agreement?

Yes. Your files are handled under NDA and only by the translators and project manager working on your project.

What happens when the manual is updated?

We translate only what has changed. The translation memory recognises the parts already translated, so updates are faster and cheaper.

Can you deliver print-ready files?

Yes. We work directly in your InDesign, Illustrator or FrameMaker files and deliver print-ready PDF and open files, also in right-to-left languages.
