FAQ
Cosmetics Translation: Frequently Asked Questions
What beauty brands ask us most often before sending their labels.
Do you translate the INCI ingredient list?
No, and that is correct: INCI names are international and stay the same on the label. We translate everything around them - product name and function, directions, warnings and claims.
Which languages are required on cosmetic labels?
It depends on the market. In the European Union, key label information must be in the language of the country where the product is sold. In the Gulf countries, cosmetics are usually sold with an Arabic label. We tell you which texts to translate for each market; your regulatory consultant confirms the final requirements.
Can you adapt marketing claims for a new market?
Yes. We translate claims faithfully and point out any wording that could read as a medical or exaggerated promise in the target market, so you can decide before printing.
Can you work directly on our packaging artwork?
Yes. Send us the Illustrator or InDesign files: we insert the translation, also in right-to-left languages, and deliver print-ready files.
Do you sign a non-disclosure agreement?
Yes. New formulas, launches and packaging stay confidential: only the translators and the project manager working on your project see the files.
